Oxmog was formed in June 1976 when Paul Gordon contacted Chas Smith - the then Secretary of the MSCC and suggested the formation of an Oxford Centre. Chas gave the idea his approval and Oxmog was formed;
Founder members were Paul (Secretary) and Diane Gordon, Ian and Marion Catmull, Peter and Beryl Anderson, Pat and Bob Cragg and Roy and Lin Halford Noggin and Natters commenced at various watering holes with some early mid-monthly noggins held at Paul’s home in Jeune Street, Oxford
On 28th January - a committee was formed to organise events and collect subs etc. Committee members; Paul Gordon (Secretary) Peter Anderson (Treasurer) Ian Catmull, Roy Halford, Andy Kirk and Dave Stretton-Smith.
Noggins moved about for a few months visting Abingdon Arms in Beckley in February(at this meeting the first subs were taken (10p)) and the Gordons, Andersons, Catmulls, Craggs, Halfords were all present.
March 77 Noggin at the Bystander in Wootton.
April 77 noggin was at the Star in Stanton St John, which became the regular noggin venue for several years.
Peter Anderson took over as Centre Secretary in June 1979 and the Cameron’s, Darch's, Lees and Jennings were all regulars by this time.
Roy Halford, ,Allan Cameron, Keith Jennings and Paul Holmes all acted as Secretaries over the following years.
